Connect Your Device and Unlock Smarter Training

Seamless Smartwatch Integration — Your Wearable, Supercharged

FTW Sport connects to Apple Health and Health Connect, so wearables that sync to those platforms — such as Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, Samsung Galaxy Watch and Polar — can feed your training. We support wearable integrations where available.

Key Benefits

Discover how this feature helps you achieve your fitness goals

Heart Rate Data

Heart rate data your wearable shares with Apple Health or Health Connect can add context to your training, where available.

Works With Your Existing Watch

No special hardware needed — if your device syncs to Apple Health or Health Connect, its data can contribute to FTW Sport.

Sleep Tracking Integration

Sleep data from your wearable informs your Recovery Score and training readiness.

Daily Activity Context

Activity data shared through the health platforms, where available, gives the AI more context about your day.

HRV Monitoring

Heart rate variability data helps FTW Sport gauge your recovery as part of your daily Recovery Score.

How It Works

Simple steps to get started with this feature

1

Connect Your Device

Open FTW Sport and allow access to Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) when prompted. Make sure your watch's own app syncs to that platform.

2

Auto-Sync Health Data

Once permissions are granted, supported health data such as sleep and HRV syncs from those platforms — no manual entry needed.

3

AI Uses Data for Optimization

The AI incorporates your wearable data into workout planning, adjusting intensity based on your Recovery Score and sleep.

4

Train to Your Readiness

Your plan for the day reflects your recovery, so you train harder when you are ready and ease off when you are not.

Use Cases

Heart Rate Awareness

Use your watch's heart rate display to check intensity during cardio, while FTW Sport adapts your overall plan to your recovery.

Sleep-Informed Training

FTW Sport adjusts your training plan based on how well you slept. A poor night can mean reduced volume or an active recovery recommendation.

Recovery Tracking

HRV and sleep data from your wearable feed FTW Sport's Recovery Score, helping you manage training load and avoid overdoing it.

Whole-Day Context

Activity data synced to your health platform, where available, gives the AI a fuller picture of your day beyond your workouts.

The Complete Guide to Smartwatch and Wearable Integration With FTW Sport

Modern fitness wearables collect a lot of health data. The challenge is turning that data into training decisions. FTW Sport bridges this gap by connecting to the health platforms your smartwatch workout app already uses, so your data can shape your plan.

Why Wearable Integration Matters for Your Training

A fitness tracker on your wrist is only as valuable as the software interpreting its data. Many companion apps show charts and summaries but do not connect that data to your actual workout programming. FTW Sport takes a different approach.

When you connect your wearable data to FTW Sport, sleep and HRV feed your daily Recovery Score, which the AI uses to adapt your plan. This means your workout plan is not static. It can adapt based on:

  • How well you recovered — HRV trends are a widely used indicator of recovery.
  • How much you slept — sleep duration and quality affect energy, focus and performance.
  • Your recent training load — back-to-back hard days add up.
  • How you feel — your pre-session energy and mood check-in.

    How the Integration Works

FTW Sport does not require proprietary hardware. Instead, it connects to the operating-system health hubs that most wearables already feed:

    #

    Apple Health (iOS)

For iPhone and Apple Watch fitness app users, FTW Sport integrates through Apple Health. Data from Apple Watch — and from other devices that write to Apple Health, such as Garmin, Oura Ring or WHOOP — can contribute, depending on the permissions you grant.

    #

    Health Connect (Android)

On Android, FTW Sport uses Health Connect as the integration layer. Devices and apps that write to Health Connect — for example Samsung Galaxy Watch, Fitbit, Pixel Watch and others — can contribute data.

    #

Garmin, Polar, Suunto, Coros and More

Garmin workout integration and other brands work through the same route: if the brand's companion app syncs to Apple Health or Health Connect, that data can reach FTW Sport. We support wearable integrations where available; exactly which data types are shared depends on each device.

How FTW Sport Uses Your Wearable Data

    #

    Recovery and Readiness

FTW Sport calculates a daily Recovery Score using sleep, HRV and your recent training load:

  • HRV (Heart Rate Variability) — higher HRV relative to your own baseline generally indicates better recovery and readiness for intense training.
  • Sleep — total sleep time and quality influence next-day performance capacity.
  • Training load — recent hard sessions accumulate fatigue.

If your Recovery Score is low, FTW Sport may suggest a lighter workout, active recovery or a rest day, helping you avoid the overtraining that derails long-term progress.

    #

    Heart Rate During Training

Your watch's own workout app can show live heart rate and zones during cardio. Use it to check intensity, while FTW Sport focuses on adapting your overall plan to your recovery and goals.

    Data Privacy

Health data deserves care. FTW Sport can only read the data you permit through Apple Health or Health Connect, and you can change or revoke those permissions at any time in the platform's settings. See our Privacy Policy for details.

    Getting Started

Make sure your watch syncs to Apple Health or Health Connect, open FTW Sport, and grant access when prompted. From there, your wearable becomes a bridge between your body's signals and your training plan. FTW Fitness is currently free to download and use on iOS and Android.
